Rocks on Rocks (Treblinka, Dec. 2019)
Rocks on rocks--little ones, big ones, jagged, round, smooth, rough.
Yisgadal v' yiskadash shmei raba
Memory upon memory. Sadness for millions; tears for the multitudes.
B'alma divra chirusei
To act feels necessary.
V'yamlich malchusei, b'chaiyechon, uv'yimechon, uv'chaiyei d'chol beit yisrael,
To accept sadness is healthy.
B'gawaala uvizram kariv, v'imru Amen.
To erupt in anger natural.
Y'hei sh'mei, raba m'varach l'alam u'l'almei almaya
Preserving the memory of victims is my job.
Yis'barach, v'yishtabach,Â
Educating others my responsibility.
V'yispa'ar, v'yisromam, v'yis'nasei, v'yis'hadar, v'yis'alei, v'yis'halal
The land is filledwith invisible ashes.
Sh'mei d'kudsha b'rich hu. Poland is a graveyard.
L'ayla min kol birchasa v'shirasa,tush'b'chasa v'nechemasa,Â
The DNA of martyrs flows through the tree branches.
Da'ami'ran b'al'ma, v'imru: Amen The ground is packed with the flaky remains of living beings.
Y'hei shlama raba min sh'maya,v'chayim Which disintegrate into the soil.
Aleinu v'al kol yisrael, v'imru: Amen Oseh shalom bim'ro'mav, hu ya'aseh shalom, aleinu v'al kol yisrael v'imru
Amen
